The Grace Bros building on the left was designed by architect Walter Newman and constructed in 1904, known as the Model Store. The Grace Bros building on the right, including its matching globe and clock tower, was constructed in 1926. The globes shown are lightweight replacements from 1998, as the original bronze griffins were previously removed. The buildings were restored and redeveloped in 1998. The building on the left is now Broadway shopping centre.
