Unique IDAG-0042DescriptionOn 1 January 1989, the Council of the City of South Sydney was created from the old boundary of the Council of the City of Sydney leaving the latter with a small area of
jurisdiction. Under the organisational structure that was adopted, five standing
committees, namely: CA 41, Finance Committee III, 1989-1993, CA 42, Industrial Relations Committee, 1989-1991, CA 43, Planning Committee II, 1989-1993, CA 44, Works Committee III, 1989-1993, and CA 45, Corporate and Community Services Committee, 1989-1993 were created through Resolution of Council dated 3 January 1989.

The Industrial Relations Committee was assigned the task of all matters related to industrial and staff activities.

Through a Resolution of Council dated 23 September 1991, Council decided to change the number of its Standing Committees from five to four committees.
