Unique IDAG-0037DescriptionThis Committee was appointed on 7 April 1987 by the three Commissioners who had
replaced the elected Council under the City of Sydney Act 1987. The Committee was responsible for finance and budget, property and housing, plant purchases, industrial relations and staff, subsidies and donations, the Town Hall and outer halls, and the Council parking stations.

It was abolished when the Commissioners were replaced by an elected Council under the City of Sydney Act 1988. This Act divided the Council of the City of Sydney into the Sydney City Council and South Sydney City Council and defined their respective boundaries. The new Council consisting of 7 members held its first meeting on 3 January 1989 and appointed two new committees to replace the Finance Committee, CA 41, Finance Committee III, and CA 42, Industrial Relations Committee.
