Properties and Housing Committee

Unique IDAG-0051DescriptionOn 24 September 1984, Council decided to reorganise its various standing committees. CA 49, Works and Housing Committee, was renamed Works Committee, and its responsibilities related to housing were transferred to the newly created CA 51, Properties and Housing Committee, chaired by Alderman Phillip Rhoades. CRS 54, Properties Committee I was abolished and its responsibilities transferred to this new Committee.

The Committee was responsible for the management of Council properties, acquisition and development of land and buildings for housing purposes, parking stations, Federal and State subsidies and grants for housing purposes, housing cooperatives, maximisation of property revenues, letting of Council properties and determination of property insurance, consideration and recommendation of tenders and quotations, property disposal, and management of the Council fleet.

The Committee was abolished on 16 September 1985 and replaced by CA 50, Properties, Housing and Works Committee, 1985-1987.CreationResolution of Council 24 September 1984AbolitionResolution of Council 16 September 1985
