Unique IDAG-0054DescriptionThe Properties Committee I was created in 1977 and assigned the responsibilities of property administration and supervision, handling property disposals, maximisation of property revenues, letting Council Properties, revenue recommendations, insurance requirements, tenders and quotations and property acquisition. Also, it was assigned to implement lease and rental indexation, and determine the percentage of gross rental income from Council properties.
In 1980, it's name was changed to the Public Works and Properties Committee, later renamed Housing, Properties and Public Works Committee. In 1982, as a result of the re-amalgamation of the Council of the City of Sydney and the Municipality of South Sydney into a single administrative body, the Properties Committee I was restored to its original name (4 January 1982 meeting of Council).
