On 13 October 1975, Council resolved to appoint five sub-committees of the Finance
Committee. These were the Revenue and Expenditure Control Sub-Committee, the Industrial Relations Sub-Committee, the Woolloomooloo Redevelopment Sub-Committee, the Insurance Sub-Committee, and the Property Sub-Committee. The membership of the Sub-Committee was reduced to Aldermen Nelson J Meers, Charles Boag, and Denny Linker.
Matters dealt with included the purchase and sale of residential and commercial properties; applications for tenancy, transfer of tenancy and reduction in rent; the appointment of a panel of real estate agents to review Council's rentals; maintenance; and fire protection. The properties discussed range from kiosks and flower stalls to the Capitol Theatre and the Queen Victoria Building.
