City Planning, Development and Transport

Unique IDAG-0209DescriptionFollowing the re-amalgamation of South Sydney City Council with the City in early 2004, this agency was renamed "City Planning". Initially it was divided into two sections, City Planning Northern zone (City) and City Planning Southern zone (South Sydney) but these were to be integrated by the end of 2004.

As part of the administrative reorganisation that took place in about September 2006, this agency lost the strategic planning role to CA225, and in about November 2007 also lost the transport / traffic planning role to CA 240. From about November 2007 therefore the agency has had an assessment, regulatory and enforcement role only, and the name was changed to "City Planning & Regulatory Services"

On 1 September 2009 Graham Jahn (Architect and former Councillor (1995-1999) became Director of Planning and Regulatory Services, replacing Giovanni Cirillo (Bill MacKay had been Acting Director for several months). The divisional name was changed to City Planning, Development and Transport by 12 March 2012.CreationGeneral Manager's e-mail to all staff, 15 December 2003.
