Each letter was assigned a consecutive number ranging from 1 to 432 and bound into a volume. Shaw was Deputy Chief Commissioner for the period 1967-1969. The series was created by the Town Clerk’s Department (AG-0040).
The series is controlled by the Index to Deputy Chief Commissioners Correspondence (AS-0205) in the period 15/11/1967 to 19/09/1969.
Three Commissioners were appointed by the State Government to administer the Council when the elected Council was dismissed. The Chief Commissioner's correspondence for the same period was incorporated into Lord Mayor's Correspondence (AS-0067), 1958-1982.
