DescriptionThis series consists of a card index to subjects discussed and resolved at Council meetings, 1968-1975. The index was created by the Deputy Town Clerks Department [South Sydney Municipal Council] (AG-0020).

The index starts from 1 August 1968 when South Sydney Municipal Council was first named Northcott Municipal Council, until the meeting of 26 November 1975. After this date, the index ceased to be compiled. The index relates directly to Minutes of Council (AS-0058) indicating page number (a), and minute number (2), beside each item listed. A volume number is not given. Many of the items are dated, but it appears to have been randomly applied.

The items on the cards have been recorded chronologically by each council meeting or date of resolution. Heading cards preceding the actual index list items to be indexed, and those not. The indexed items include Questions Without Notice; Nuisances; Letting of Public Halls; Orders of the Day; each item on the Finance Committee, each item on the Health and Recreation Committee, each item on the Works, Planning and Development Committee; and each item on the Industrial Committee.

The items not indexed are the confirmation of Minutes; Apologies, Reports of Committees and Inspections. An overall list of subject headings is provided in alphabetical order.

Also included in the index are:
- elections held
- lists of aldermen having served on Council
- various committees having been formed and disbanded before 1975.

Development Applications and Building Applications are indexed, being listed according to the address of the property. The card index is presented in alphabetical order and tied into nine separate bundles with cotton tape. The cards are separated into an alphabetical categories by card dividers.
