It was preceded by the Community Services Committee II Agenda Papers (AS-0457) and the City Health Committee II Agenda Papers (AS-0869).

The Community Services Committee was one of four Standing Committees created on 7 April 1987 during a Special Meeting of the Commissioners who had replaced the Sydney City Council. The Committee was chaired by Commissioner Norman Oakes.

The Committee was responsible for parks and recreations, community services, library services, Council's swimming pools, and public health.

The items in the agenda paper are listed on the cover on green paper. Every item listed has a file number, property location and a brief description of the subject. and the date and time of the meeting. The agenda papers are attached to the cover and contain the file number, subject and address of the project, background notes, recommendation of the relevant department, funds certification, and a street map showing the location of the property.

The series ended on 30 December 1988 coinciding with the final day of the Commissioner's term.
