Unique IDAS-0940Start dateBetween 1st January 1914 and 1st January 1920Start date qualifiercircaFormatLoose PapersDescriptionThis series consists of the handwritten minutes of the meetings of the Executive Committee of the Lord Mayor's Patriotic Fund established in 1914 to provide relief and support to any citizen who "engaged in the defence of our country in aiding the cause of the Empire".

The minutes of the organisational meeting of the Fund held at the Lord Mayor's Room on 20 August 1914 are found in Volume 1. The minutes also recorded decisions concerning scale of dependents' weekly allowance payments, including rents, debts, and others. Under each claim number, the name, address and age of the claimant or dependent, including the number of children, are recorded.

Statements of receipts and payments as separate documents are found in Volume 2 while early financial reports are integrated in Volume 1. Information about amounts transferred, in accordance with the wishes of the donors, to other funds such as the Belgian Funds and Red Cross Funds are also recorded.
