Unique IDAS-0954DateBetween 1st January 1959 and 1st January 1992Date qualifiercircaFormatPlanDescriptionThis series has been created to hold architectural and engineering project drawings commissioned by the Council from contractors (architectural and engineering firms) to support major building projects.

Although the Council retained a significant plans drafting capability within the City Engineers and Planning departments until the early 1990s it was not unusual, especially from the 1970s onwards, for design work (and sometimes concept work) for major projects to be contracted outside, either wholly or in part.

The plans and drawings in this series can be broadly divided into two categories:
(1) Services drawings and plans of major buildings.
(2) Architectural concept drawings for developments that were under consideration.

Most of the sheets in this series are copies, including copies annotated as contract drawings. However the Housing project drawings from the 1980s are coloured originals and include perspective drawings as well as plans and elevations.
