Unique IDAS-1002Date1st January 1993Date qualifierexactFormatPlanDescriptionThis series contains plans drawn by Council's Architects or drawn for Council by outside contractors, for projects undertaken or proposed, for or by the Council. Mostly these relate to public space upgrading, and building refurbishment or restoration.

By about 1990 the Council drafting officers no longer applied the sequential identification numbers used since before 1928 (see CRS 782), and increasingly plans were prepared for the Council by contract firms of architects and engineers, with the Council's role being overall project management.

Few Council plans are in the custody of the City of Sydney for the years 1989-1993, because at that time most responsibilities which required drafting were supplied on a 'cross servicing' basis by South Sydney City Council. These included parks management and most engineering responsibilities. The cross servicing arrangement was abandoned during 1993.

Note that some plans which would otherwise belong in this record series are captured into the building and development plan series, and when archived are located in CRS 126 (to mid 1997) and CRS 995 (thereafter). Others which are associated with general corrspondence and subject files are captured in CRS 950 and item information must be obtained through the TCS current records management system.
