The three-story building has several businesses at street level including: Joseph E Chapman, a bootmaker, at number 203 William Street. Garvan, Hodges and Brown Federal Cleaners and Pressers are at number 205 and has signage displayed stating that they are specialists in the renovation of suits and costumes; and Gents hats cleaned, rehocked and retrimmed. James W Leighton and Son who are trunk manufacturers and repairers at numbers 207 to 209. Accommodation is available above the shops, including the St Bernards Home for Working Gentlewomen at 209a.
