Forsyth, who signed a contract to purchase from Mrs Diane Carmody a restaurant in 12A Macleay Street Potts Point. Discussion regarding the cooking of food on the premises which was not allowed and modifications such as the insertion of a vent or flue. The premises had been granted a licence to act as a Tea and Coffee Lounge, operating for the past 3.5 years, with Diane Carmody granted a licence on 8 August 1950. Subsequent complaints from the flats above in September 1950 indicated that cooking was taking place. Warnings were issued to Diane Carmody that cooking was not allowed.
