Under the heading, General City Improvements, the Commissioners reported on repairs in Pyrmont, supplies of road metal and discontinuance of supply from Pennant Hills on grounds of cost, actions of Inspector of Nuisances, dust carts, contractor for cleansing privies, slaughter houses, watering the streets, the City Markets, the City Wharfs, foot pavements, new buildings, hackney carriages and lighting. Under the heading Sewerage, the Commissioners reported on works completed and old sewers repaired. Under the heading Water, the Commissioners reported on preparations made for securing a supply from Botany, including retaining the supply from Lachlan Swamp for the low levels of Woolloomooloo, having a high service reservoir at Paddington for supplying the highest levels and a low service reservoir in Crown Street. Under the heading Financial, the Commissioners reported on the balances of accounts and referred to various detailed appendices [not appended here].
