Appended: Letter from Department of Mines advising that District Surveyor Greaves reports compensation claims by Sir George Wigram Allen for £1600 and by Gregory Board for £1000 and requesting an advance from the Council of £600 awaiting the vote of Parliament; Letter from Department of Mines agreeing that money for compensation for land resumed for the extension of Goulburn St be forwarded to the Council to expend; Letter from Allen & Allen (Sir George Wigram Allen & Arthur Mansfield Allen), solicitors, 122 Elizabeth St, requesting compensation based on valuation by Mills & Pile for resumption of a butcher's shop, two houses and injury to another, details included of rents and leases; Letters from George Lea Wilson, certificated conveyancer, 139 King St, for Gregory Board, re compensation; Letter from John Shortis, 353 Kent St, leaseholder of 44 Brisbane St, on the line of Goulburn St, seeking compensation; Letter from Department of Mines seeking to know if owners of premises in Goulburn St extension (Board, Nathan and Sir GW Allen) will accept compensation suggested; Letter from Department of Mines advising that opinion received states that land for the extension of Goulburn St cannot be resumed under the 'Lands for Public Purposes Acquisition Act' but may be taken under Sec 34 of 4 William 4 No 11.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
