Unique IDA-00505017SeriesLetters from City TreasurerDate25th March 1845FormatVolume - Leather BoundDescriptionMemo from City Treasurer to Town Clerk transmitting a Statement of the Balances of the Accounts of the Corporation of the City of Sydney to the credit of the City Fund, £115/11/4, and to the credit of the Police Fund, £1470/6/4; the balance in the City Fund is only sufficient to meet the needs for the next few days and it may seem necessary to use the Police Fund for City matters; it appears that negotiations for a cash credit for the City with the Bank of Australasia were not completed which would have enabled repayment to the Police Fund if so used and in the meanwhile some City cheques have been dishonoured; in these circumstance, the Treasurer does not feel justified in drawing on the Police Fund for City purposes and requests that the Council give him authority to do so.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
