Appended: Memo from MW Parker, District Surveyor, listing the number of workers and payments with annotations for additional sums for men on Kay's and Hinchey's Lists [not appended]; Memo from E Bell, City Engineer, regarding past payment for holidays: men employed on city works who did not work were not paid on Christmas day, Boxing day or New Year's day; Mr Seymour's men worked on those days and Anniversary Day and were paid as usual; men employed on the water service did not work and were not paid except for the turncocks and assistants who did work and were paid; the Botany Works men worked on all days except for a few hours in the middle of Christmas Day and were paid; it has been usual to pay the men for Anniversary day whether working or not.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYesBorn digital itemNo
