Committee took into consideration petitions to extend the street, the promise of Thos Buckland on behalf of Sir Daniel Cooper to give land and a payment, the promise of a payment from the Redfern Municipal Council, and the placement on the estimates by the Government in 1863 of £500 to continue the road further from the eastern boundary of the City to Randwick Road conditional on Council's forming the portion of Cleveland St between Bourke St and the City Boundary.
