Appended: Memo from AD Meares, storekeeper at Crown St, stating that the cottage approved 12 months ago has not been built and suggesting that his case be treated similarly to that of the storekeeper at the Hay St Depot and he be given an increase in pay in lieu of provision of a residence; annotation by Edward Bell, City Engineer, noting that at present a night watchman is paid to watch over the depot, a storekeeper is necessary to record transactions at the depot during the day and if a residence were built, it would not be necessary to employ a night watchman.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
