He was prosecuted by Louis B Blackwell, the Inspector of Nuisances. Dawson and Edmunds for Council, Vardy for Kerr. Kerr appealed unsuccessfully against his fine. Documents relate to the defense of the appeal, Brief to Edmunds and copies of the information by Blackwell, the Summons of Kerr, and the sworn evidence before magistrate EH Wilshire of Henry Geary, Inspector of Licensed Hawkers, Sarah Jeffries 43 Regent Street Redfern and Albert Chaney in employ of Kerr.
