William South on behalf of stall holders of the George Street Markets complains that there is a want of water from the tap at the market for two months, because of damage to the tap. Signed by the writer, Samuel Kippax, John Wilson, S. Wakely, John Ireland & others. Memo suggests it could not have been damaged without the stall holders' knowledge; two have been shut off as unnecessary, another damaged in such a reckless way it was cut off as punishment and to prevent waste. Water is wasted and carried off by people in adjoining streets with impunity.
