He issued orders to the working men, tried to meet the Gas Company Engineer on site and finally had to send a notice stating that the Gas Company must comply with his instructions within 10 days or the Corporation would complete the work at the expense of the Gas Company, followed by a copy of his notice to the Australian Gas Light Co.
