Report that on Saturday last, a gully grating had fallen down the shaft at corner of Pitt & Market Sts. Two men, to prevent an accident as large no of cabs and other vehicles in close proximity, recovered the grating with considerable difficulty. These men claim 10/- which sum I consider exhorbitant. 5/- would be ample remuneration. I was present at the time work was completed. Notes: pay 5/- each to named.
