With reference to your claim for rates on 129 Oxford St, prior to 1894, we point out you were to take action against the tenant, but failed to do. Since then, you accepted each subsequent year, we cannot submit distrain for rates prior to 1894. The owners offer without prejudice, to pay ½ amount claimed. Your neglect to take action has mulcted the amount they offer to pay. Notes: Attach detail of claim for £14 and recommend amount of £7 offered in settlement be accepted. Matter has been with solicitor who was against taking action. We would not succeed in law, note dates (3x ½ yrs Dec 92, June 93, Dec 93.) Approved.
