Richardson's Railway Family Hotel has a corrugated iron roof, four single attics and a double attic with parapet. The name Railway Hotel is included in the wrought iron awning, and an electric lamp hangs from the third level. The Grand Hotel next door at number 815-821 also has an electric lamp on its third level and its ornate sandstone parapet bears the inscription Founded AD 1849. Various pedestrians are seen under the awnings, and a shoe shine man sits in the gutter right.
