On the corner at the far left is A McLean Refreshment Room advertising Siren soap, Bushells, Nestles Swiss milk chocolate, Burton ale, and tobacco. There are also posters for performances by Greenshields, Ed Jessop, O'Grady Esbers, Green Sullivan. On the corner on the right is Stone Brothers butcher. Further down the street is Sing Kee grocery shop and The City Council offices. Wexford Street was the first street in the area to be resumed for slum clearance and street widening. It disappeared from 1906 in the construction of a new Wentworth Avenue.
