The cottage backs onto John Street which was renamed Fitzgerald Street in 1926 and University Street was renamed Salisbury Road in 1932. To the right is work is in progress on clearing the street which intersects Church Street and follows down the hill to Australia Street. There is a corner pub and other buildings in the distance.
