To forward three tenders for taking out 4 lengths of old funnel at the Tar Plant Wattle Street and refitting top half in position. The City Surveyor recommended the tender put forward by W. F. James & Co (£6-15-0). Town Clerk approved the recommendation. While the work was being carried out the funnel broke and was found to be unfit for further use. Mesers W.F.
