The Mayor found that Mr JS Henderson of the Paving Branch had inspected the work out of office hours at the invitation of Mr Evans, the owner, and E Ryan, the contractor, and with the knowledge of Mountain, the City Surveyor. The Mayor instructed that any future inspections for private persons were only to be undertaken with the sanction of the Mayor. Appended: Memo Town Clerk to the City Surveyor with annotation by Surveyor; letter of certification by Henderson of the satisfactory nature of the rectified work with receipt of payment by Ryan.
