The Committee stated that many poorer inhabitants of densely populated parts of the City had no close access to water fountains. The Committee recommended fountains in Goulburn & Sussex Streets, Windmill Road at Millers Point, Margaret Place & Kent Street, Brougham Place, Pitt & Bathurst Streets, Durand's Alley Pitt Street, Parramatta & Abercrombie Streets, Elizabeth Street South near the Cheshire Cheese, Little Hunter & Little George Streets. To supply the proposed fountain at Goulburn & Sussex Streets, the Committee recommended the laying of water pipe in Goulburn Street. Appended: Report of City Surveyor, Sheilds; Statement of probable revenue for pipe laid in Goulburn Street from George Street to Raynor's Cloth Factory; Statement of probable revenue from pipe laid from Castlereagh & Goulburn Streets to the Cheshire Cheese in Elizabeth Street; Statement of probable revenue from pipe laid in Parramatta Street, from Dalton Lane to Abercrombie Place.
