Appended: Draft of the Report - Water: Engines and machinery have worked continuously except when Reservoirs full and have been in efficient working order; Advantage taken of efficient working of the Lachlan Swamp Tunnel to repair foundations of the Eastern and Middle Engines; two fractures to 30 inch main near Botany Engine House were quickly repaired; details given of quantity of water pumped; repairs to the Engine House and the effective working of the Tunnel have brought about a drop in the consumption of coal; construction of new reservoirs and embankments at the head of the Lachlan Swamp; enlargement of the Engine Pond continued; diversion of Black Water Creek is continuing; annual contracts satisfactorily carried out; quantities of pipes laid, work on Main in Kensington St, total number of houses receiving and paying for water is 19,486. - Sewerage: Main sewers with the exception of the brick sewer in Bridge Street have been in good working order; additions to the main sewers were completed in the southern section of the City (Irving, Gipps Streets); additional 435 houses connected making a total of 6902 houses connected to mains; more stoneware pipe drains laid; a silt pit constructed on the Market Wharf and at Lime Street; junctions and manholes at Liverpool & Palmer Sts and Liverpool & Elizabeth Sts; 30 feet of the Tank Stream Sewer re-covered with timber in Pitt Street near Queen's Wharf. - Financial: Statements of receipts and Expenditure on Sewerage and Water Funds were presented.
