Committee reported that 30 applications had been received and 25 candidates had presented themselves for examination by the Town Clerk, the City Engineer and the City Surveyor. Candidates had completed written examinations in Orthography, Dictation & Grammar, and Arithmetic & Geometry. Committee selected Henson from 7 candidates with best results in Arithmetic and Geometry.
