Unique IDA-00505564SeriesMayor's InstructionsDate30th June 1890FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionInstructions from Mayor Sydney Burdekin: While acknowledging the difficulty experienced by City Surveyor in complying with my request, for a Return showing expenditure in the different Wards of the City since passing of the Corporation Act of 1879, a suggested means of solving this difficulty is as follows: As the total expenditure incurred in a particular year consists of a large number of small items, such as wood blocking, road making, metalling and other works, referring to particular Streets and principally between Cross Streets, which may involve one or more Wards, the expense needs to be apportioned to each Ward, as applicable.
