[Note: 24 & 27/2/57 Surveyor to report. The petitioners built their houses at the true level of the street, by the accumulation of sand brought down by floods from Brougham St and the higher grounds adjacent to the roadway has been raised about three feet. The works now in progress have had the effect of still further elevating this part of Duke St. The works though only temporary are productive of serious annoyance to the petitioners by preventing in a great measure egress and ingress from & to their houses.
