Richard Driver, City Solicitors Office, regarding charges preferred against the overseer and others at the Argyle Street Quarry, advising that proceedings be commenced against Downes and Reardon for conspiracy. This was based on a statement obtained from John Sheehy that Reardon had been twice paid for working up the same stones and they were afterwards restacked for the purpose of obtaining a third payment, with the knowledge of Downes. The stones were measured by French who Sheehy alleges was in league with them, although the City Solicitor writes that there is nothing in Sheehy's statement to fix French with any guilty knowledge, however French could be made a witness.
