John Rae, Department of Public Works, requesting that, for the better supply of water to the Hyde Park Barracks, the Sydney Infirmary and the Houses of Parliament, the immediate laying down of a 6-inch main from the main in College Street near St Mary's Cathedral through the Domain be ordered. The cost of this work will be defrayed by the Government and the Directors of the Infirmary and the Colonial Architect.
