(Note: Mr Driver to report whether we have acted illegal and broken lease by cutting off the water: JWS; 28/2/78. The cutting off the water from the Dawes Point Baths does not in any way affect the right of the Council to recover payment of the amount due for rent. Before going to trial in the action of ejectment against the Lessee I took the precaution to obtain from the Sureties Messrs Smith & ONeill an undertaking to pay the rent and costs - This places the matter beyond all doubt & after what has passed between the Sureties and myself I cannot understand why the application is made upon the grounds stated by them: RD; 4/3/78.
