(Note: Mr McLaughlin does not state the truth. I saw Mr McLoughlin place pumpkins four feet beyond the line of pillar and contrary to By-Law No 20. I told him to remove them, and passed on. In about 20 minutes after, I had again to request him to remove the same goods, and bags of vegetables also, he became very insolent and said that I wanted to put a "bloody man", out of the market, and that he would not shift them. that he had plenty of influence, and that he would have me shifted out of that. For about 7 months, I have had, every market day to request him to put his goods back, three and four times, and as a last resource I have summonsed him to put the thing down, and as a caution to others: GH. 12/3/78 reply: CHW)LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
