John Grierson, Town Clerk, Solicitor & NP, Dumfries, Scotland. A friend of his, Mrs Kay of Parkfoot, had a son, John Kay, a steward on the steamer "Moulton". She was told that he had died in the "Liverpool home in Sydney" on 2 July 1889. Attached is a letter from the Registrar General who writes that they had no record; however there is a notation that a further search resulted in a certificate and that he died in the Liverpool Asylum. Also attached is a business card of Heinrich Volck, boot and shoe maker, 31 Castlereagh and 38 King Streets Sydney, the back of which has "Mr J Evans, Francis Street off Coventry Street, South Melbourne."
