Events staff collated brochures and programs dating from 1978 - 1994 in folders at the time of the performances.

They were created by:
- Cultural and Community Services AG-0112 in the period 01/01/1995+
- Civic Affairs AG-0030 in the period 01/01/1989 to 01/01/1995
- Civic and Public Affairs Department AG-0009 in the period 01/01/1984 to 01/01/1988
- Parks and Recreations Department AG-0010 in the period 01/01/1978 to 31/12/1983.

Council did provide public concerts after 1994 but the public entertainment program began to decline in size after 1997. The activity of collating programs either ceased after 1994 or later collated programs have not survived. Adhoc programs after that date can be found in series AS-1165.

The majority of concert programs and advertising materials in this series are for concerts held at Town Hall. Some of the types of concerts includes yearly organ series concerts, subscription concerts, family concerts, song and dance evenings, musicals, Christmas concerts, midday concerts, special occasion and anniversary concerts. The variety of musicians performing includes choirs, brass and concert bands, jazz musicians, cabaret singers and well known ensembles such as The Song Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
