Resumption and Improvement Plans for Moore Street (Martin Place), 1884-1918

The plans relate to the resumption of Moore Street and the consequent improvement program imposed on the street.

In 1891 Council received power from Parliament to resume certain properties in order to widen and improve Moore Street and by 1892 the Improvement Scheme was completed.

This series of plans shows the outline of buildings, extent of each existing property, extent of resumptions and location of hydrants prior to the implementation of the Scheme.

I is noted that the details on the plan prepared "9.18" are as shown on plan dated 18 June 1891".

The plans were found wrapped in three bundles, the arrangement has not been altered. One bundle consists of plans identified as sections 31 to 37 however a key to these numbers has not been located.
