The Victorian awning is being removed to be replaced by a steel cantilevered awning. A telegraph boy with a bicycle is standing on the footpath along from the York Street frontage which has been boarded off for the safety of pedestrians. Part of a sequence of photographs taken to record alterations to the building in 1917-1919.
