At the City Council meeting on December 17, on the motion of the Labor Aldermen, suported by Ald Williams and Henson (Fitzroy), the large, City Council owned residence, "Arden", Greenknowe Avenue, Potts Point, was let to Mr Albert Sloss (Secretary) on behalf of a group of returned soldiers recently formed into a branch of the RSS & A, for club purposes. The difference between the rental value and the rent charged was discussed at the previous Finance Committee. The question of trade in liquor on unlicensed premises was questioned by the Times as well as previous appeals for a pre-school age kindergarten and a community centre.
