Committee recommended that clearer arrangements be made with the Bank, but confirmed overdraft provisions still applied and that Council should authorise the Treasurer to draw on the 'police funds' for general purposes of the City. Appended are the City Treasurer's letter, copies of letters in 1843 from the Mayor, John Hosking, and the Town Clerk, to Manager, Charles Falconer, Bank of Australasia concerning the account and overdraft and from Charles Falconer confirming overdraft provision of £3000.
