Committee examined Thomas Doling, the superintendent of Water Works, in the presence of McMahon and decided that McMahon had failed to turn off locks as instructed causing water to be wasted and preventing the plumbers from connecting houses. McMahon had also been observed drunk on the streets. As he had previously been reprimanded and been found insubordinate, Committee recommended his dismissal.
