Obee had purchased the lease for £1200 for the year 1864 but due to unforeseen circumstance changing the mode of selling produce brought into Sydney he was deprived of the tolls and dues he could have expected. The Committee recommended a reduction to £1 per month for the final three months of the year. Appended: Memo from Town Clerk to the Committee; Petition by Obee stating that since April the Government had commenced a new system of bringing down straw, hay etc by railway and was allowing produce to be sold at the Sydney Railway Station where no market dues were payable.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
