Note: 19/12 refer to Surveyor. The work which Mr Moore complains of was executed nearly two years ago, principally at the request of his neighbours. The gutter between Park and Bathurst Streets on the east side of George Street was laid nearly level, consequently stagnant water lay constantly in it forming a serious annoyance & completely preventing ladies from crossing George St at Mr Moore's shop. The only remedy that could be applied was adopted viz lowering the gutter near the shaft - The curb is now about ten inches above the gutter, and in Brickfield Hill it has for years past been above 12 inches above the gutter without the annoyance Mr Moore complains of being felt.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
