Warton & Saunders, 8 Laurence Pountney Lane, London, inform the Town Clerk that the Lords of the Privy Council have reversed the judgment of the Colonial Court with costs in the Appeal of Mary Lord v Commissioners. They add that "nothing could have been more solid and brilliant that Mr. Roundell Palmer's argument" and find a reversal "strange" after so conclusive an argument. They feel that the motive of the Lords of Council is in what they say about "the importance of giving encouragement to settlers in rising Colonies".
